When the plane crashed, I was in the middle of an email exchange with Peter Livingston about how I could support his daughters. His last message read: Let me check with Evy, I’ll circle back. Since the incident, I’ve read that email thread countless times, each reading leaving me with an overwhelming sense of helplessness.
I may not have had the chance to support the skating sisters, but in their honor—and in memory of the incredible souls we lost on Flight AA5342—I’d like to introduce the BM5342 Grant.
This year, Brilliance & Melrose will offer $2,000 to a passionate skater in North America. With continued growth, I plan on expanding the size of this grant in the years to come.
With this initiative, I hope to honor the unwavering passion of skaters and the immense pride of their parents. It may be just a small contribution, but I hope it serves as a spark to inspire someone to keep pushing forward, even when the journey gets tough.
We will start accepting applications on February 15th, and the winner will be announced on June 1st.
Stay tuned for more,
Marie xx
